Livewire
Formed in 2007 this is an intriguing new duo to the Country scene – 'intriguing' because it came about almost by accident….. Ainsley (better known to many as Country Code) met, and fell for, a lass called Debbie Billson from Worthing, in Sussex.
Debbie could already play acoustic guitar, had a good singing voice, and was in the process of launching her own solo career - fortunately though she 'fell' for Ainsley as well, and so it seemed a natural progression from there for the two of them to get together with their music as well... and thus 'Livewire' was born.
Style-wise they appeal greatly to the Line & Partner dancers, but are just as comfortable playing to a non-dance type audience. One of the advantages they have, of course, is that with the total difference in vocal ranges that a boy/girl duo enjoy so the choice of songs (and the influence on Ainsley & Debbie of the big, well-known singers) is absolutely vast and many, many songs can only be sung by either a boy or a girl – but not by both, so as you'd expect Ainsley & Debbie take full advantage of this flexibility and their audiences benefit accordingly.
In just a few short months they gained a considerable fan-base, and their diary has filled up rapidly as a result ever since.. By the turn of the year 2009 they had developed into one of THE most sought-after acts on the Country Line Dance scene, also a favourite with the Partner dancers AND with the more traditional style Clubs, where their roots have always been. The future is certainly looking bright for these two young artistes – and it’s looking rosy, not 'Orange' (as the ad. goes) so keep an eye out for when they're appearing in your area because they're an act you really wouldn't want to miss, if you could help it - they're Livewire in the real sense of the word!
